Abstract

Державотворення в Україні є тривалим і складним процесом, що охоплює періоди князівської доби, козацької державності, добу визвольних змагань ХХ століта сучасний етап незалежності. Цей процес відображає прагнення українського народу до самоврядування, збереження національної ідентичності та реалізації демократичних цінностей. Історичні етапи державотворення свідчать про послідовну боротьбу за політичну суб’єктність і територіальну цілісність. Особливу роль у сучасному державотворенні відіграє активна громадянська позиція, розвиток інституцій та правова держава. Українське державотворення є прикладом національної стійкості, що формує ідентичність народу та визначає його місце у світі./ The paper explores the evolution of Ukrainian state-building as a foundation for modern national identity. It highlights key historical stages, from the formation of Kyivan Rus and the Cossack Hetmanate to the 20th-century independence struggles and the modern era. Particular attention is paid to the establishment of democratic institutions, the fight for sovereignty, and the development of civil society. The study emphasizes the resilience of the Ukrainian people in preserving statehood despite colonial oppression, totalitarian regimes, and military aggression. It also outlines the role of national consciousness, legal reforms, and European integration in shaping a modern, democratic Ukrainian state. Understanding the process of state-building is essential for analyzing Ukraine’s political development and its place in the global arena.
