Forming foreign communicative competence by means of the didactic business game

Abstract

У статті розглядаються питання формування іноземної комунікативної компетентності як складової професійної компетентності за допомогою дидактичної гри. Розглядається інтерактивний метод вивчення іноземної мови для конкретних цілей; елемент набуття ключових компетенцій майбутнім фахівцем відповідно до поточних потреб та вимог. Завданням даної роботи є представлення теоретико-методологічних основ та практичних аспектів використання дидактичних ігор, подання пропозицій щодо подальшого вдосконалення її використання у практиці викладання англійської мови для конкретних цілей. У статті розглянуто основні принципи дидактичних ігор, можливість їх використання у процесі вивчення англійської мови. Автори розглядають насамперед проблему класифікації дидактичних ігор та визначають дидактичну структуру ділової гри та аналізують ефективність використання ділових ігор на заняттях іноземних мов Миколаївського національного аграрного університету. Для цього дослідження використовувались теоретичні, діагностичні та статистичні методи. Результати дослідження демонструють позитивні зрушення в рівнях комунікативної компетентності студентів після використання ділових ігор в навчанні англійської мови. Розглядаючи достатню кількість досліджень у цій галузі, автори дійшли висновку, що формування іноземної професійної комунікативної компетентності за допомогою дидактичних ігор для майбутніх аграріїв потребує подальшого розвитку. Нарешті, автори визнають, що використання гри в освітніх цілях є перспективною сферою навчання іноземної мови.

The article deals with the issues of forming foreign communicative competence as a component of professional competenceby means of didactic game. It is considered as an interactive method of learning of foreign language for specific purposes; as anelement of acquisition of key competencies by future specialist according to current needs and requirements. The object of this paperis to present theoretical and methodological foundations and practical aspects of the use of didactic games, to give proposals forfurther improvement of its use in the practice of English teaching for specific purposes. The article reviews the basic principles ofdidactic games, the possibility of their use in the process of learning English. The authors deal firstly with the problem of the classificationof didactic games and determine the didactic structure of business game and analyze the effectiveness of the use of businessgames in foreign language classes at Mykolayiv National Agrarian University. The theoretical, diagnostic and statistical methodswere used for the purposes of this study. Results of the research demonstrate the positive shifts in students’ communicative competencelevels after use of business games in English learning. Considering a sufficient amount of investigations in this area, the authorsconcluded that the formation of foreign professional communicative competence with the help of didactic games for future agrariansneeds further development. Finally, the authors admit that the use of the game for educational purposes is a promising area of teachinga foreign language.
