Abstract: | The study of milk productivity of French Holstein and Montbéliard breeds is regarded in the article, the uniformity of lactation is investigated, the lactation activity is assessed, as well as the cows are evaluated by the shape of their udder. The obtained results make it possible to affirm that the breed affects the production efficiency and the quality indicators of milk from cows of different French breeds, which are used in Ukraine. The cows of Holstein breed have a uniform course of lactation, high and constant productivity in terms of lactations and the better milk yield, but their milk quality indicators are inferior to those in the cows of Montbéliard breed. The cows of Montbéliard breed have a constant productivity and a uniform flow of lactation, they give high milk yield immediately after calving, but later they rapidly decrease productivity. |
