Abstract: We study the influence of oxygen and hydrogen sulfide on the carbonic-acid corrosion of welded metal structures of oil and gas equipment, propose a scheme for the classification of the processes of carbonic-acid corrosion in carbon steels, and establish the equilibrium conditions for the formation of corrosion products.
