Abstract: Recently, along with induction motors of traditional cylindrical design began to increase attention to induction mechanical motors, which outwardly also cylindrical, but the active sides of the stator and rotor windings are located in them in the radial direction, and not in the axial, as in conventional induction machines. Such a constructive scheme, as it turns out, has a number of undoubted advantages. First of all, the magnetic system in such engines is made of a strip with subsequent milling along one of the ends of the radial package. Grooves, which significantly reduces steel waste. In addition, the length of the frontal parts is reduced stator windings, and consequently, is reduced copper consumption. Above this, the end structure engine allows you to simplify the layout of the engine and mechanism. So, induction end motors have a slightly larger efficiency, better use of active materials and turn out to be more compact. The article discusses a comparative analysis of induction motors of axial and axial design, which are designed for traction of electric vehicles.
