Ринок засобів захисту рослин в Україні: ризики та перспективи

Abstract

У статті визначено основні фактори, що впливають на розвиток ринку засобів захисту рослин в Україні, а також чинники, які зумовлюють необхідність використання пестицидів агровиробниками. Розкрито сучасний стан ринку засобів захисту рослин та його регіональні особливості. Окреслено основні ризики українського ринку засобів захисту рослин, спричинені воєнними діями, серед яких: падіння обсягів продажів; порушення логістичних ланцюгів; зростання цін; поширення контрафактної продукції; нестабільність цін на зерно; нестабільність прибутків агровиробників. Акцентовано, що застосування фальсифікованих засобів захисту рослин може мати не лише короткострокові негативні наслідки для довкілля та здоров’я людини, а й зумовлювати довгострокові ризики. На підставі аналізу сучасного стану ринку та чинників ризику окреслено перспективи його розвитку.

In the context of global food security threats, plant protection products are an essential tool for increasing crop yields and protecting them from pests, diseases, and weeds. Therefore, developing agriculture today without plant protection products is impossible. Purpose. This study outlines the prospects for developing the Ukrainian plant protection products market based on an analysis of its current state and the risks it faces in today's changing conditions. Results. The main factors influencing the development of the plant protection products market in Ukraine, as well as the factors determining the need for pesticides among agricultural producers, are identified. The growing world population and the increasing need for food are emphasized as the main drivers of the increased demand for pesticides. The current state of the plant protection products market in Ukraine and its regional characteristics are revealed. It was found that international companies mainly offer Ukrainian farmers innovative, high-efficiency products, while Ukrainian companies offer similar products at a more affordable price. The war was found to have reduced the import of pesticides to Ukraine, opening up new opportunities for Ukrainian producers of plant protection products. The main risks to the Ukrainian plant protection products market caused by military action were identified, including decreased sales, logistics chain disruption, price increases, counterfeit products, unstable grain prices, and inconsistent agricultural producer profits. It is emphasized that using counterfeit plant protection products can have negative consequences for the environment and human health in the short term and continue to cause harm in the long term. Based on the analysis of the current state of the specified market and the risks affecting it, the following prospects for the future are outlined: increased use of biological plant protection and integrated protection systems, development and implementation of safer plant protection products, improved regulation and control over their circulation, and further development of partnerships between pesticide manufacturers and farmers.
